Meeting was held at the request of the Vietnamese Party in connection
with holding on April 1, 2015 in the city of Hanoi the 132d Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary
Union - the international organization of national parliaments that includes
more than 160 parliaments of the world. Vietnamese Ambassador stressed that the
Vietnamese Party attaches great attention to the development of all forms of
inter-parliamentary cooperation, and primarily with friendly countries like Ukraine, and hopes for participation of delegation
of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
in this authoritative international forum. Chairperson of the Committee expressed gratitude to the foreign Ambassador for the kind words and informed that the Ukrainian parliamentary delegation plans to participate in the events in Hanoi and that at present formation of the delegation takes place. H.Hopko said also that the composition of the deputy group of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on interparliamentary liaison with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will be finally approved in the nearest time, and that the group will consist of around thirty deputies of the Ukrainian Parliament.
The Parties appreciated interparliamentary cooperation as one of the leading kinds of inter-state relations and confirmed their readiness to actively develop them.
Discussing the issue of the present-day situation of Ukraine, Vietnamese Ambassador expressed support to Ukraine and its people and expressed hope for the soonest possible stabilization. He reassured Ukrainian Party that the Socialist Republic of Vietnam supports the policy of peace led by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
At the end of the meeting, the Parties discussed the issue of future Days of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Ukraine and organization of the Vietnamese fair in the cities of Ukraine.
